TRANSACTION LAW AND CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR IN THE DIGITAL MARKET

Course Content

In the course, students are taught the basic concepts of contract law, general terms and conditions and the distinction of traditional contracts with new digital forms of contracts and distance transactions. They are also taught the manner, form and legal effects of contracts in sales, service and distance contracts. Next, there is an analysis of the regulations of e-commerce and the reference to the legislation, European and Greek, for consumer protection. The ultimate goal is to understand to students how electronic business transactions are regulated and the definition of transaction and payment terms for consumer protection. It also analyzes consumer behavior and their interaction with businesses for the development and increase of e-commerce and new forms of transactions. Among others, the concept of commercial communication, the country of origin principle and the concept of unsolicited commercial communication are presented. In addition, there will be a deepening of the business and technological model of e-business, the objectives of the electronic platform, the benefits of e-business, the operation of the electronic document, the electronic invoice, the electronic signature and of course the protection of data and the security of transactions.
