Course Content
In this course, students are taught issues of competition law, free and unfair. In particular, it analyses the rules of unfair and free competition (i.e. the basic rules under which equal conditions of market access must be respected, which achieve the avoidance of restrictive practices, foreclosure and distortion of competition), with emphasis on the prohibition of abuse of a dominant position in the market, the conditions for mergers and agreements between undertakings, but also unfair commercial practices and competitive acts. A significant part of the course covers the law of advertising and the analysis of types and forms of advertising (comparative, indirect, misleading, etc.). Furthermore, reference is made to the impact on Greek competition law of European legislation on unfair commercial practices, the which has been incorporated into the Greek legal order. Finally, there is an analysis of the benefits of competition, the assessment of competitive conditions, state actions and the impact on the market.
